Cello Lessons

Cello, like the violin is a stringed instrument used in many genres of music. Learning cello takes lots of focus and practice to train the ear to hear correct intonation. The cello is a very expressive instrument with a warm sound. Cello instruction includes learning necessary technique, as well as music theory, and instruction in a variety of styles of music. Students must furnish their own instrument and the instrument must be the appropriate size for the student. The teacher can help determine what is the best size instrument for your student.

Lesson Information

Students will need their own instrument to practice on at home. They can choose from an acoustic piano (preferred) or electronic keyboard. When choosing an electronic keyboard, look for the option of a full size keyboard (88 keys) and weighted keys, if possible. During in person lessons, students will use the piano at the studio.

Students will also be asked to purchase lesson books, which usually cost approximately $30.00, depending on the level of development and lesson choice. The teacher will instruct on which books to purchase.
